* vo_gpu: don't pass ra_fbo by valueKacper Michajłow2023-11-281-3/+3
| | | | Make it easier on compiler, no need to alloca and copy things around.
* test: integrate unittests with mesonDudemanguy2023-03-021-0/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | This reworks all of mpv's unit tests so they are compiled as separate executables (optional) and run via meson test. Because most of the tests are dependant on mpv's internals, existing compiled objects are leveraged to create static libs and used when necessary. As an aside, a function was moved into video/out/gpu/utils for sanity's sake (otherwise most of vo would have been needed). As a plus, meson multithreads running tests automatically and also the output no longer pollutes the source directory. There are tests that can break due to ffmpeg changes, so they require a specific minimum libavutil version to be built.
* vo_gpu: generally allow non-storable FBOsNiklas Haas2020-03-081-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | We have this cap now thanks to e2976e662, but we don't actually make sure our FBOs are storable before we blindly attempt using them with compute shaders. There's no more need to unconditionally set `storage_dst = true` as long as we make sure to include an extra condition on the `fbo_format` selection to prevent users from accidentally enabling compute-shader-only features with non-storable FBOs, alongside some other miscellaneous adjustments to eliminate instances of "assumed storability" from vo_gpu.
* video/out/gpu: Add a `storable` flag to ra_formatPhilip Langdale2019-07-081-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While `ra` supports the concept of a texture as a storage destination, it does not support the concept of a texture format being usable for a storage texture. This can lead to us attempting to create a texture from an incompatible format, with undefined results. So, let's introduce an explicit format flag for storage and use it. In `ra_pl` we can simply reflect the `storable` flag. For GL and D3D, we'll need to write some new code to do the compatibility checks. I'm not going to do it here because it's not a regression; we were already implicitly assuming all formats were storable. Fixes #6657
* vo_gpu: fix vec3 packing in UBOs/push_constantsNiklas Haas2018-09-291-11/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | For vec3, the alignment and size differ. The current code will pack a struct like { vec3; float; vec2 } into 8 machine words, whereas the spec would only use 6. This actually fixes a real bug: The only place in the code I could find where it was conceivably possible that a vec3 is followed by a float was when using --gpu-dumb-mode in combination with --gamma-factor, and only when --gpu-api=vulkan. So it's no surprised nobody ran into it yet.
* msg: reinterpret a bunch of message levelsNiklas Haas2017-12-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I've decided that MP_TRACE means “noisy spam per frame”, whereas MP_DBG just means “more verbose debugging messages than MSGL_V”. Basically, MSGL_DBG shouldn't create spam per frame like it currently does, and MSGL_V should make sense to the end-user and provide mostly additional informational output. MP_DBG is basically what I want to make the new default for --log-file, so the cut-off point for MP_DBG is if we probably want to know if for debugging purposes but the user most likely doesn't care about on the terminal. Also, the debug callbacks for libass and ffmpeg got bumped in their verbosity levels slightly, because being external components they're a bit less relevant to mpv debugging, and a bit too over-eager in what they consider to be relevant information. I exclusively used the "try it on my machine and remove messages from MSGL_* until it does what I want it to" approach of refactoring, so YMMV.
* vo_gpu: fix ra_tex_upload_pbo for 2D texturesNiklas Haas2017-10-271-1/+5
| | | | | | params->rc was ignored in the calculation for the buffer size. I fucking hate this stupid ra_tex_upload signature where *rc is randomly relevant or not.
* vo_gpu: simplify structs / namesNiklas Haas2017-09-221-45/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Due to the plethora of historical baggage from different eras getting confusing, I decided to simplify and unify the struct organization and naming scheme. Structs that got renamed: 1. fbodst -> ra_fbo (and moved to gpu/context.h) 2. fbotex -> removed (redundant after 2af2fa7a) 3. fbosurface -> surface 4. img_tex -> image In addition to these structs being renamed, all of the names have been made consistent. The new scheme is as follows: struct image img; struct ra_tex *tex; struct ra_fbo fbo; This also affects derived names, e.g. indirect_fbo -> indirect_tex. Notably also, finish_pass_fbo -> finish_pass_tex and finish_pass_direct -> finish_pass_fbo. The new equivalent of fbotex_change() is called ra_tex_resize(). This commit (should) contain no logic changes, just renaming a bunch of crap.
* vo_gpu: kill off FBOTEX_FUZZYNiklas Haas2017-09-221-13/+1
| | | | | | | | | | I've observed the garbage pixels in more scenarios. They also were never really needed to begin with, originally being a discovered work-around for bug that we fixed since then anyway. Doesn't really seem to even help resizing, since the OpenGL drivers are all smart enough to pool resources internally anyway. Fixes #1814
* vo_opengl: refactor into vo_gpuNiklas Haas2017-09-211-0/+372
This is done in several steps: 1. refactor MPGLContext -> struct ra_ctx 2. move GL-specific stuff in vo_opengl into opengl/context.c 3. generalize context creation to support other APIs, and add --gpu-api 4. rename all of the --opengl- options that are no longer opengl-specific 5. move all of the stuff from opengl/* that isn't GL-specific into gpu/ (note: opengl/gl_utils.h became opengl/utils.h) 6. rename vo_opengl to vo_gpu 7. to handle window screenshots, the short-term approach was to just add it to ra_swchain_fns. Long term (and for vulkan) this has to be moved to ra itself (and vo_gpu altered to compensate), but this was a stop-gap measure to prevent this commit from getting too big 8. move ra->fns->flush to ra_gl_ctx instead 9. some other minor changes that I've probably already forgotten Note: This is one half of a major refactor, the other half of which is provided by rossy's following commit. This commit enables support for all linux platforms, while his version enables support for all non-linux platforms. Note 2: vo_opengl_cb.c also re-uses ra_gl_ctx so it benefits from the --opengl- options like --opengl-early-flush, --opengl-finish etc. Should be a strict superset of the old functionality. Disclaimer: Since I have no way of compiling mpv on all platforms, some of these ports were done blindly. Specifically, the blind ports included context_mali_fbdev.c and context_rpi.c. Since they're both based on egl_helpers, the port should have gone smoothly without any major changes required. But if somebody complains about a compile error on those platforms (assuming anybody actually uses them), you know where to complain.
